If you want to try and treat horse racing as "investing" rather than speculation we recommend you seriously consider backing horses mainly for a place rather than a win.

While your gains won't be spectacular on a daily basis we believe this form of punting can provide viable returns when followed consistently. Always remember though that horse racing is not a financial product or service and there is always a gamble associated with every wager. Therefore, if you cannot afford to lose the money - don't bet.

Rather than just betting on any horse mainly for a place we have devised a process to carefully select the most suitable horses to back each day on tracks throughout Australia.

Because of our rigid, risk minimising selection process some days we may not have any suitable selections anywhere in Australia.

One of our rules is to not bet on rain affected tracks so whenever tracks are wet we do not recommend you bet on those tracks.

OUR GOAL

Our goal is to pinpoint horses in various selected races that we believe have excellent prospects of finishing in the first three placings (ie 1st, 2nd or 3rd).

Although quite often our selections win we are happy to minimise the risk and simply back our selections to finish in the first three in fields with a minimum of eight runners. However, some punters use our selections for each way punting while others place a small wager to win and a larger investment for the place. For example 30% win wager coupled with 70% place wager. (See our staking plans page).

Please note that often our selections will be uploaded to our website before scratchings so check the scratchings prior to placing your bets. Also, make sure there are a minimum of 8 runners when you are backing our selections for a place.
